For breast enlargement we use Macrolane®. Macrolane® is a "filler" that is injected into the space between the muscle (pectoralis major) and the breast tissue. This pushes the breast forwards, making the breast bigger, giving a fuller effect and more of a cleavage.

We use Macrolane® as this is a Hyaluronic Acid filler which gives it several advantages. Made by Q-Med, a Swedish company with an excellent reputation for producing the highest quality fillers such as Restylane® and a proven track record of research and development, Macrolane® is based on the body's own chemistry.

In a human body, hyaluronic acid is naturally found throughout the skin and underlying dermis. It holds water in the skin, giving a plump and youthful look to the skin. As we age, the hyaluronic acid is lost and the skin looks thinner, dryer and older.

Macrolane® is hyaluronic acid that has been chemically altered just enough to make it last longer. However it is still accepted without much reaction in most people and lasts somewhere in the region of 12 - 18 months.

On of the advantages of using Macrolane® is that, as a Hyaluronic acid filler, if you don't like it, it can be removed by injecting an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. This breaks down the hylauronic acid, removing all of the injected Macrolane®.
